My experience with Janice over the last three years of therapy together have been everything I could have ever hoped for, imagined, and more!
Of the many things that stood out to me about Janice, is her drive to continually expand her expertise in various therapeutic approaches. Seeing that she has a personal desire to grow not just as a therapist, but as a person, was inspiring and provided me with the comfort that I was in great hands. From the tools she brought to our sessions, and her ability to remain objective while truly hearing me, allowed me to grow and heal at my own pace.
Janice’s presence and her ability to listen, validate, and understand where I was coming from cultivated trust between us. This trust made me feel safe enough to know that what she shared with me wasn’t about pleasing me or telling me what I wanted to hear, it was about genuinely helping me grow into the woman we both knew I wanted to become.
Janice intuitively knew when it was the right time to challenge me and I loved that, it was exactly what I wanted from a therapist. I never felt pushed beyond what I was ready for. That taught me how I can challenge myself outside of therapy too. And after years of us working together, the time came when I felt equipped to continue the work on myself thanks to everything she guided me to uncover about myself and the perspectives she provided me.
My goal going into therapy was to heal myself. To no longer remain in the cycles of the trauma responses but to know how to guide myself out of them. I knew from the beginning that no one could heal me, that ultimately, it had to come from me. With her guidance and approach, she took me along the path to doing just that, until I was ready to continue on my own.
